Fall is Here! As you may be enjoying all the fall festivals and foods, keep in mind of how the change in season may affect you as we prepare for winter. Many people are battling colds, flu, sinus infections and digestive imbalances. A fall cleanse may be just what you need to prepare for the holiday season.
TIP: In Chinese Medicine, it is important to protect your neck on a windy day to prevent a pathogen from entering the body which may cause a cold, flu, headache, sore throat or cough. SO get out your scarf on a cold and windy day.
November is a great time to share the gift of gratitude, appreciation, and kindness to all you come in contact with. I greatly appreciate you…

Enjoy!

Attitude of Gratitude

This season is a great time to celebrate and give gratitude to all people. It is especially important to take time daily to truly feel gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation for all things, people and experiences in your life. A great exercise that I often share with my patients, is at the beginning of each day, upon awaking, place your hands on your heart. State outloud or to yourself everything that you truly feel grateful for and FEEL it. At that time, you can set your intentions and outcomes for the day.
At the end of the day, do a few minutes review of your day and the best thing that happened that day. Again focusing on FEELING love, gratitude and what you desire to create.
The Power of Pumpkin

The fall produce is packed full of vitamins and antioxidents such as beta carotene (Vitamin A), Vitamin C, K, E, folate, leutins, xanthins and choline.
Squash, Sweet potatoes/ yams and Pumpkin all contain the above vitamins.
Pumpkin is beneficial due to its low calorie, high fiber content and it tastes great. It can be used in stir-frys, soups, cookies, breads, pancakes or in a latte.
The Pumpkin seeds have extra benefit for increasing zinc and is helpful with prostate problems, swelling/ edema, parasites and infertility specifically low sperm count.
My Favorite Pumpkin Latte:
1 tbsp canned pumpkin
2 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon ground
1 cup milk
6oz of strong coffee or 1/4c espresso
Heat in a saucepan, milk and pumpkin until steaming, then stir in vanilla and cinnamon. Put in a blender for 20seconds, then pour into a glass and add the coffee/espresso. Can add stevia or agave to sweeten.
