Restylane and Dysport
Restylane-L – is an injectable gel product with lidocaine. Restylane can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasiolabial folds). Restylane can also be used for lip enhancement in patients who are over 21 years. Ask you doctor which is right for you.
Restylane is a gel that contains hyaluronic acid, which is a natural polysaccharide (sugar molecule) that occurs in the body. As we age, the hyaluron in our body—which provides strength and hydration—decreases, which causes skin volume to decrease and wrinkles to occur. When Restylane gel is injected into the skin, the hyaluronic acid attracts and binds to water molecules.
Since each molecule can hold 1,000 times its weight in water, using Restylane has the ability to create plump, youthful looking skin and lips. Restylane is gradually degraded by the body’s own mechanism, and disappears without any residue.
Dysport – is a prescription injection of botulinumtoxin A for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyes brows (glabellar lines) and minimizes crows feet in adult less than 65 years of age.
Wrinkle relaxers like Dysport are designed for use on dynamic wrinkles – the lines that form when you make some facial expressions. In the beginning, the lines only appear when you smile or squint, but over time, they can become a permanent fixture on the upper face. Dysport is an effective treatment at any stage, smoothing away the wrinkles by relaxing your facial muscles. You will retain your ability to make natural expressions, but with fewer lines and a more youthful appearance overall. Specific treatment areas where Dysport might be recommended include:
