Qigong is an Ancient Chinese Martial Art that has been used for thousands of years to help balance the mind, body and spirit. Qigong has been shown to regulate blood pressure, increase circulation, kick up your metabolism, speeds weight loss, reduces stress, regulates breathing and focus, improves mental clarity and energy. It focuses on using the breath, movement and some visualization to move the Qi (energy) through the merdians in the body to achieve optimum health and vitality. Practicing Qigong exercises regularly will bring mental, spiritual and physical awareness to the body. It will change your life and thinking by bringing you back to your center in balance. It will reduce stress and how you respond to it.
Have you ever practiced qigong? Would you like to learn ways to better deal with the everyday stresses? or would you like to feel more energetic?
One Qigong exercise you can do is called Yin/Yang merging. Stand with your feet hips width apart, knees slightly bent. Place your hands together palm to palm with your finger tips touching towards your wrists creating an “O” shape. The hands should be just resting upon your lower abdomen. Focus on the breath, breathing into the abdomen. Release any tensions and allow the yin and yang (feminine and masculine energies to merge). Stand for a few minutes focusing on the breath.
